At a family reunion sometime around 1984 Henry W. Grote decided to make some T-shirts to hand out to all the family members who were there. They were simple blue shirts that said "The Grote Gang" on the font. This started a trend of making T-shirts for reunion type events when much of the family gathered for the 4th of July, weddings or any other reason.

The simple idea of The Grote Gang was my inspiration for creating this site. Our family is large and widespread, yet we find ways to keep in touch whether in person, on the phone or via email. My goal is to allow this space to be another means for all of us to keep up with what is happening in all our lives.

I feel very fortunate to have the kind and loving family that I have and hope that they all enjoy this site and the pictures and words it contains.
